Bear Lake is a Must See for Water Enthusiasts

Stunning turquoise water and great fishing beckons tourists from all over the country to this natural freshwater lake located on the border of Utah and Idaho. High up in the Rocky Mountains, Bear Lake is one of the pristine lakes for waterskiing, boating, swimming, sailing and scuba diving not to mention fishing and outdoor exploration.

The water's unique color, due to the limestone deposits that were suspended during the fault subsidence of the lake, brings in people from neighboring cities such as Garden City and Laketown as well. Along with Bear Lake State Park, it is the perfect way to spend a day in Utah. The fishing is ideal with plenty of rainbow trout, mackinaw, whitefish and cutthroats to be found as is the nature along the ridge of the 20 mile long lake complete with marshlands and flatlands to explore. Bear Lake Marina has plenty of rental equipment to enjoy the water sports or you could simply sun yourself on Rendezvous Beach or East Beach.

Bear Lake is home to many annual events such as Raspberry Days which is always a popular event. It is actually considered to be a four season lake as there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy it year round, especially with the ice fishing and snowmobiling that many of the locals take advantage of. Beauty, serenity and excitement are just a few ways to describe this very unique lake that has something to enjoy for everyone.
